FAQ

What are your fees for online and face to face appointments?

drop down icon

There is a difference in the cost of online and face to face therapy. Please see below for the fee for online sessions and face to face sessions.

An initial assessment or subsequent therapy sessions at 50 minutes online (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Telephone) is £115. Online appointments take place during the day and in the evening.

An initial assessment or subsequent therapy session at 50 minutes face to face is £120. My clinic is in Hertford. Face to face appointments take place during the day only.

I require payment 48 hours prior to each session, via bank transfer. This is to secure your appointment booking along with the therapy room (where applicable) that we will be using.

Why have you asked for my GP and Next of Kin details?

drop down icon

The service offered is confidential but should a situation of arise in which I become worried about your safety or that of others, I would have a duty of care to share information accordingly and this would include your GP or Next of Kin. I would always attempt to contact you before doing so to make you aware of the need, and the reasons to break confidentiality.

Please be aware that I cannot work with you if you are unable to provide these details. I do not contact GP's or any other third party about your therapy unless a safety issue arises.

Is online therapy as effective as face to face therapy?

drop down icon

The answer is yes! Research has shown that therapy delivered online is comparable to face to face therapy. Not only does it enable you to see a specialist outside your local area, it saves you time and money because you do not have to travel or find parking. Being seen online means that you can access therapy at a time that suits you from the comfort of your own home or office.

I offer online therapy sessions using a telehealth platform which is free to use and secure.

How do I book an appointment?

drop down icon

If you would like to book an appointment, you can email me directly on maria@tucknottpsychology.com OR you can fill in the online "contact me" form.

I aim to respond to all queries within 48 hours (excluding weekends and mondays). If you have not heard from me in that time then please check your spam folder as sometimes my emails can land in there.

What if I need to change or cancel an appointment?

drop down icon

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible via email to maria@tucknottpsycholoy.com

48 hours notice is required for cancellations. No refund will be given for non-attended appointments or those cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, as the psychologist incurs the same costs as if the appointment had taken place and is unable to offer the slot to another client at that late stage.

How long do I have to wait to be seen?

drop down icon

This depends on whether all of my available appointment times are booked. During a free 15 minute consultation call I can let you know whether I have spaces available. If I do, I should be able to see you within one week.

Can I use health insurance to pay for sessions?

drop down icon

Yes, I’m a registered provider with Bupa, Cigna, Aviva, WPA, Healix and any other open network insurance. Regretfully, I no longer accept AXA or Vitality. Please be aware that any policy excess is payable direct to me.
