FAQ

What are your fees?

drop down icon

Assessment and therapy sessions are charged from £115 per 50 minutes. Longer sessions can be negotiated and are charged accordingly. I will always make you aware of the fees if you request a longer session.

I require payment 48 hours prior to each session, via bank transfer. This is to secure your appointment booking along with the therapy room (where applicable) that we will be using.

Will anyone need to know I am seeing you?

The service offered is confidential. It is against the ethical code of conduct to discuss clients or their details in any way with any other person. There are two exceptions to this:

Professional Supervision:
I have an ethical duty under the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS) Code of Conduct to have regular supervision from another qualified psychologist. We meet regularly to discuss elements of my work and do not identify clients by name. This process ensures I continue to offer clients the best possible service.

Risk:
I have an ethical and a legal obligation to take steps to protect clients and other members of the public from risk of harm. This means that in the unlikely event a client discloses information that indicates either they, or another person, are at risk of serious harm, I must inform relevant third parties (e.g. next of kin, GP, social services, the police etc.) so that they can act to reduce that risk. I would always attempt to contact you before doing so to make you aware of the need, and the reasons to break confidentiality.

Is online therapy as effective as face to face therapy?

drop down icon

The answer is yes! Research has shown that therapy delivered online is comparable to face to face therapy. Not only does it enable you to see a specialist outside your local area, it saves you time and money because you do not have to travel or find parking. Being seen online means that you can access therapy at a time that suits you from the comfort of your own home or office.

I offer online therapy sessions using a telehealth platform which is free to use and secure.

How do I book an appointment?

drop down icon

If you would like to book an appointment, please fill in the online "contact me" form. This is the fastest way of contacting me as I may be busy in clinic and unable to answer telephone calls immediately. I aim to respond to all queries within 48 hours (excluding saturday, sunday and monday).

How do I cancel an appointment?

drop down icon

I operate a 48 hour cancellation policy and the full session fee will be charged if you cancel within this time. If you cannot attend your appointment then please let me know as soon as you are able.

Do I need to bring anything with me when I attend my assessment appointment?

drop down icon

You do not need to bring anything with you. Some clients like to bring personal notes or diaries with them to act as aide memoirs and some clients don't.

Are you registered with any insurance companies?

Yes, I’m a registered provider with AXA, Bupa, Cigna, Aviva, WPA, Healix and any other open network insurance. Regretfully I am no longer accepting new Vitality clients.
