How to Stop Beating Yourself Up - 18/05/25

Many of us live with a relentless inner critic—an internal voice that magnifies our flaws and mistakes, leaving us anxious, ashamed, and stuck in cycles of self-judgment. But this critical voice isn't a personal flaw; it's part of our brain's ancient threat system, designed to keep us safe.

Compassion Focused Therapy helps us understand and reshape this inner dialogue. By recognizing the inner critic as a misguided protector, we can begin to respond with self-compassion rather than self-attack.

For many people, this internal self-criticism becomes an ingrained habit, driving anxiety, shame, and even depression. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone and more importantly, it’s not your fault.
